Разработана фирмой D-Link, характеризуется простотой установки, не требующей переформирования жесткого диска. Позволяет пользователю нормально работать в ЛВС с оперативным доступом к нескольким серверам одновременно. Построена по модульному принципу и поддерживается дополнительными программными продуктами. Обеспечивает совместное функционирование с Netware. Основные характеристики Lansmart: многопользовательский оперативный диалог (до четырех пользователей), поддержка MS DOS 5.0; совместимость с MS Windows 3.0; дополнительные утилиты Server, Bridge, Asynchronous Communication, Electronic Mail, Remote Access, Remote Boot, SCO/Xenix, TCP/IP; параллельный доступ; разделяемые ресурсы – диски, принтеры, СОМ-порты; невыделенный режим работы сервера; встроенный вирус-детектор; 100 %-ная совместимость с IBM PC LAN, NetBIOS; занимаемая емкость ОЗУ – для сервера 40 Кбайт, для рабочей станции 2 Кбайта; максимальное число "пользователей и серверов в сети – 255, одновременно открытых файлов – 2048; уровень защиты файлов – 5.
